Job summary

The Boeing Company in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Lead Software Engineer – Embedded to join the AvionX Software Engineering Team. You will help develop embedded real-time software for avionics across Long Beach, California and Plano, Texas, leading critical software initiatives and working across engineering disciplines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree, 10+ years in software leadership, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required and active U.S. security clearance eligibility.
10+ years leading software development and teams.
10+ years in trade studies, business case development or SOW management.
10+ years creating and implementing automated test strategies.
5+ years driving DevSecOps adoption and developer productivity.

Responsibilities

Oversee design, development, test, debugging and maintenance of embedded software for avionics.
Translate customer needs into software product designs for embedded systems.
Lead code reviews for embedded software on specialized hardware.
Manage integration of software with hardware components and systems.
Monitor and improve stability and efficiency of embedded software systems.
Oversee testing and debugging of embedded software across platforms.
Lead research into new technologies, tools and regulatory changes.
Provide guidance on software/hardware integration domains.
Track internal and supplier team performance to ensure compliance with plans and standards.
Oversee embedded software project management activities.
