Job summary

NOCO is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to join the Peoria, Arizona R&D group. You will architect code for ARM microcontrollers, implement control algorithms for charging systems, and support existing products with feature enhancements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years embedded software development with bachelor degree in CS/CE/EE.
• Self-directed problem solver in solo and team settings.
• Prioritize tasks across multiple projects to hit timelines.
• Experience with super-loop and RTOS threaded architectures.
• Strong knowledge of electronic hardware interfaces and requirements.
• Design and tune PID control for motors (PMSM, FOC, BLDC).
• Familiarity with BSP/FSP and peripheral code generation tools; drive ADC windowing, DMA, timers, low power.
• Hands-on experience with electrical hardware and lab test equipment.
• Knowledge of USB charging interfaces and BMS operation.
• Familiarity with I2C/SMBus, SPI, CAN Bus.
• Ability to root-cause software performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design code for ARM-based NOCO products.
• Design and implement control algorithms for charging systems.
• Support and enhance existing products with new features.
• Troubleshoot production software issues and root cause analysis.
• Define software verification methodology; integrate AI model workflows and testing.
• Develop algorithms for performance on virtual and real hardware.
• Collaborate with prototype hardware to leverage new capabilities.
• Work with hardware and test engineers; apply hands-on lab knowledge.
• Code UI elements (LEDs, small displays) and serial buses (SPI, I2C, CAN).
• Code fast charging/discharging for Li batteries via USB interfaces; BMS operation.
