Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Embedded to join the EOIS Software Development Team. You will lead technical activities across the development lifecycle, developing embedded software, PC tools, and networking protocols, and influence architecture for robust operation.

The role requires 3+ years real-time embedded SW, C/C++, Linux, RTOS, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of real-time embedded software experience.
• Experience with RTOS, Linux, and bare-metal embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded device drivers (TCP/IP, UART, I2C, SPI, PCIe, MIPI, 1553) on Linux.
• Strong C/C++ development skills (3+ years).
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• Self-starter who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support and participate in technical activity.
• Design, develop, analyze, document, and test products and subsystems.
• Use design/analysis tools as needed.
• Provide regular progress reports.
• Ensure tasks meet technical requirements and deadlines.
• Review customer specs and design accordingly with cost considered.
• Support design-to-cost and DFM requirements.
• Develop prototypes to retire key risks.
• Communicate clearly with team and customers.
• Perform software tests and qualify for customer release.
• Other duties as assigned.
