Job summary

Beacon EmbeddedWorks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and test software across embedded and desktop platforms. You will work on 8/16/32/64-bit targets, write in C/C++/Python, and contribute to bare metal, RTOS, Linux, and Android environments.

Yocto/Linux and Android AOSP experience is desirable. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering and is based in Eden Prairie, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS/CE/Software or equivalent required.
• 5+ years building software for embedded processors, Yocto Linux or Linux distributions.
• 2+ years developing system software or HAL layers on Android AOSP or Android.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, direct, and review work of other design engineers.
• Translate product requirements into architectures for embedded software.
• Design and develop software for 8/16/32/64-bit platforms.
• Develop software in C, C++, Python; familiarity with other OO languages preferred.
• Develop for bare metal, RTOS, Linux, Android; experience with Yocto and AOSP desirable.
• Design device drivers for USB, Ethernet, HDMI, PCIe, etc.
• Work on wireless tech such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, cellular.
• Prepare design verification docs, software plans, specs, requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion.
