Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer in Marietta, GA, to design and implement safety-critical avionics software. You will work on C++-based projects across MOSA.ic, VxWorks, and Integrity RTOS environments, and integrate software with hardware in Linux/Windows/Bare Metal contexts.

The role requires 5+ years of embedded experience, strong testing and lab integration skills, and the ability to work onsite 100% with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• C++ development for safety-critical avionics systems.
• RTOS experience with MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity.
• Embedded app development in Linux/Windows/Bare Metal.
• Software integration & testing in lab and hardware environments.
• On-site work 100% required, travel up to 10%.

Job description

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent


• 5+ years of embedded software development experience


• C++ development for safety-critical avionics systems


• Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity)


• Embedded application development in Linux (ie Yocto/RHEL), Windows, & Bare Metal environments


• Software integration & test in lab and hardware environments


• Ability to work onsite 100%


• Ability to travel 10%

Preferred / Additional Skills

• Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)


• Version control and issue tracking (Gitlab, Atlassian suite)


• Flight Software Development Experience


• Proficient in Python development


• Familiarity with software requirements development utilizing Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (ie Cameo)


• Digital simulation (SIL/MIL/HIL) and closed-loop testing


• Hardware/software integration and troubleshooting


• Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)


• Experience with Navigation, Guidance and Control Implementation


• Experience with Signal Processing Implementation


• Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs


• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment


• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
