Actalent is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to architect, develop, integrate, verify, and sustain complex embedded software for defense-grade imaging and sensor systems. You will lead subsystems, guide junior engineers, and work hands-on across RTOS, Linux, and Bare Metal environments.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, experience with FreeRTOS or Embedded Linux, AMD/Xilinx MPSoC platforms, and on-site work in Melbourne, FL. U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience.
• Strong hands-on programming in C/C++, with embedded emphasis.
• Experience with FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, Ubuntu, Bare Metal.
• Experience with AMD/Xilinx Zynq MPSoC, MicroBlaze or similar.
• Experience using Vitis for development and debugging.
• Ability to lead hardware/software integration, bring-up and debugging.
• On-site work in Melbourne, FL; U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, integration, testing and sustainment of embedded software components.
• Own software architecture and key design decisions.
• Develop software for AMD/Xilinx platforms and SoCs.
• Design for Bare Metal, FreeRTOS and Embedded Linux environments.
• Develop and debug low-level drivers and communication protocols.
• Integrate software with FPGA, hardware, display and sensors.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, verification, and program teams.
