Job summary

Battelle is seeking a Senior Vulnerability Researcher to work from Columbus, OH; Chantilly, VA; or Beavercreek, OH offices. You will disassemble and debug embedded devices, build tools beyond current capabilities, and collaborate with a close-knit research team to elevate your skills.

The role requires extensive experience in vulnerability research, exploitation techniques, multi-OS knowledge, and secure coding in C, with the possibility of a Secret or higher clearance.

Qualifications

• Education/experience mix per table.
• Develop software to run in user- or kernel-mode.
• Strong ability to read assembly and use debugging tools.
• Experience with disassemblers for vulnerability research (Ghidra/IDA Pro/BinaryNinja).
• Experience with one or more assembly languages (x86/x64/ARM/MIPS/PowerPC).
• Experience with one or more debuggers (WinDbg/OllyDbg/gdb).
• Experience with vulnerabilities on Android/iOS/Windows/Linux/MacOS/VxWorks/QNX/RTOS.
• Knowledge of advanced exploitation techniques (ret2libc/use-after-free/type confusion).
• Knowledge of exploit protection techniques (DEP/ASLR/NX).
• Ability to code in C.
• Understanding of network protocols.
• Ability to work individually and in small fast-paced teams.
• Passion and drive to continuously improve skills.
• Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain Secret or higher clearance.
