Ambiq Micro, Inc. in Austin, TX, seeks a Sr. Staff Embedded Software Engineer - Security to lead the MCU software team in securing the Bootrom/Bootloader and SDK for Apollo SoC.

On-site in NW Austin, you’ll partner with architecture, verification, and design to define and build security features for next‑gen semiconductor products. You will mentor engineers, drive pre-silicon testing via FPGA emulation, post-silicon debugging, and integrate cryptographic operations on embedded hardware

Qualifications

• BS/MS in EE, CE, or CS with 8+ years embedded experience.
• 3+ years of team management preferred.
• Embedded expertise: ARM, RTOS, and I2C/SPI/UART drivers.
• Security expertise: Secure Boot, PKI, AES/RSA/ECC, TrustZone, CryptoCell.
• Debuggers: JTAG, Saleae; Git; Python and Bash scripting.
• Security implications for embedded systems with IoT concepts.
• C is expert; C++ proficiency; GCC/Arm compilers; MCU IDEs.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership within the MCU Software team. Lead planning and implementation for new features.
• Potential path to a small to mid-size team with a player-coach role.
• Define and implement security features with Design, Architecture, Verification, and Applications.
• Test and verify pre-silicon (FPGA emulation) and post-silicon work; debug Secure Bootrom/Bootloader.
• Integrate runtime cryptographic operations on embedded accelerators.
• Collaborate with SQA and System Test to define security test coverage.
• Develop HAL and BSP for the SDK.
