Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Specialist, Software Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT to join our System Software group. You will build foundational software across defense platforms, focusing on embedded real-time development and cross-disciplinary collaboration for mission-critical systems.

Applicants should have a strong background in C++, multi-threaded programming, and RTOS environments, with DoD experience and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 6 years of related experience; Graduate degree with 4+ years; 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded real-time software for defense systems across Windows, Linux, and RTOS targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define performance requirements and interfaces.
• Contribute to the full software life cycle from requirements through testing and integration.
• Prepare test plans and documentation; participate in peer reviews; fix defects.
• Travel to customer sites up to 5% as needed.
