Job summary

TRG Manufacturing Search Division seeks a Senior Embedded Network Engineer to lead design, development, and validation of embedded communication networks within advanced equipment platforms.

You will architect Ethernet/serial networks, configure Layer 2/3 switches, and establish validation methods. This hands-on role requires 10+ years engineering experience, including 3+ years Ethernet design, and a strong background in embedded/industrial control networks with cybersecurity awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, CS or related field required.
• 10+ years engineering experience with 3+ years Ethernet network design.
• Hands-on experience configuring Layer 2/3 switches, routing, and traffic management.
• Strong background in embedded/industrial control network architecture and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure network design.
• Embedded Linux networking experience valued; controls or software dev experience preferred.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and support hands-on testing and troubleshooting.

TRG Manufacturing Search Division has been engaged to find a Senior Embedded Network Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of communication networks connecting industrial controllers within advanced equipment platforms. This company is investing in next-generation control technologies for advanced equipment platforms. You will help develop reliable, secure network architectures that enable distributed control systems to communicate and perform in demanding operating environments.

Embedded control networking experience required; enterprise IT networking alone DOES NOT qualify.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex system-level challenges and influencing product development. Working with a global engineering team, you will collaborate with hardware, software, systems engineering, and cybersecurity specialists to develop and integrate embedded communication networks from concept through production.

In this role, you will architect Ethernet and serial communication networks, configure Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, and establish network requirements and validation methods. You will guide technical decisions, support new product introductions and upgrades, and resolve laboratory and field issues through network diagnostics and root cause analysis. Success requires experience designing networks within equipment platforms and a strong understanding of how embedded controllers communicate.

Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years of Ethernet network design
• Hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switch configuration, routing, and traffic management
• Strong background in embedded or industrial control network architecture, integration, and diagnostics
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure network design
• Controls or software development experience preferred; embedded Linux networking experience valued
• Ability to provide technical leadership and support hands-on testing and troubleshooting
• Experience in aerospace, defense, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, marine systems, or industrial automation highly valued
