Job summary

Wind River seeks a Software Architect - Systems to define and drive the architecture for embedded Linux platforms. You will design scalable, secure, and maintainable systems and mentor engineering teams.

The role combines deep technical leadership with strategic roadmapping, balancing performance with safety-critical requirements. Preferred location is Austin, TX with hybrid/on-site arrangements; remote candidates may also be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 7+ years in embedded Linux or systems software.
• Experience designing complex, large-scale systems and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive system architecture and component structure for embedded Linux platforms.
• Design APIs, interfaces, and integration points between components.
• Create architectural diagrams, specifications, and documentation.
• Develop technical vision and roadmap; evaluate technologies and tools.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor engineers on architecture.
