Job summary

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is recruiting for an experienced embedded software engineer to support the Linux-based real-time video processing engine of the da Vinci Surgical System. You will work in a fast-paced team to derive solutions from rough requirements and ensure high product quality.

Responsibilities include bringing up cameras, evaluating image pipelines, and enhancing illumination control, with cross-functional collaboration across SW/HW teams and development environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM field.
• 8+ years of industry experience developing C/C++ software for embedded systems (embedded Linux).
• Experience with scripting languages for diagnostics or test automation.
• Familiarity with full product lifecycle: design, documentation, implementation, debug, verification, validation, transfer to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and verify embedded software for a real-time video processing engine.
• Bring-up and integrate new cameras and image sensors.
• Evaluate advanced camera pipelines and image processing algorithms.
• Develop and enhance color and power control for intra-operative illumination.
• Contribute to cross-functional SW/HW development efforts and tool design.
