Job summary

Futurex Inc. seeks a Senior Embedded Linux Platform Engineer to lead the Linux platform, BSP, security architecture, and hardware interfaces for its HSM appliances.

You will own embedded Linux, Buildroot, kernel configurations, device trees, and secure boot, collaborating with hardware, FPGA, and security teams to deliver a secure, production-ready platform. The role requires deep experience with Buildroot/Yocto, kernel and device-tree configuration, secure boot, PCIe, and high-speed networking,

Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional experience developing embedded Linux systems.
• Buildroot or Yocto, Linux kernel configuration, device trees, and cross-compilation toolchains.
• Experience with BSP/driver integration and secure boot mechanisms.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, USB, and Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain Buildroot-based Linux distribution.
• Customize and maintain kernels for SoMs and board revisions.
• Configure and maintain device trees and platform definitions.
• Build and maintain BSPs for HSM hardware.
• Integrate kernel drivers, platform services, bootloaders, and root filesystems.
• Optimize boot performance and system reliability.
• Support production images, manufacturing config, and secure updates.
• Bring platform hardware into Linux and expose stable interfaces.
• Lead platform bring-up from power-on to application readiness.
