Job summary

SiFly Aviation seeks a senior Embedded Linux Engineer to own connectivity on the aircraft, enabling simultaneous multi‑link routing across cellular, Wi‑Fi 6, and Wi‑Fi HaLow. You’ll shape how traffic is prioritized and how video, telemetry, and command‑and‑control survive handovers in flight.

You will write services in C, C++, and Python on a Yocto platform, collaborating with platform, applications, cloud, and hardware teams in Santa Clara. Ownership transfers as you onboard.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of embedded Linux development with a networking focus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience with network protocols and routing on embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the Dynamic Routing Engine and blending of links in flight.
• Develop end-to-end multi-link connectivity with handover.
• Implement policy routing, QoS, and network namespaces.
• Tune video/telemetry paths and MQTT/MAVLink routing on lossy links.
• Define contracts between network and apps for resilience and degradation handling.
• Manage secure overlay and per-aircraft identity with TLS.
• Instrument the network and build test rigs for validation.
