Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego seeks a senior software engineer to own the embedded Linux platform software powering automotive telematics systems, from boot and security to memory and virtualization, through silicon bring-up and production launch with global automakers.

You will architect boot/recovery paths, contribute to platform security, plan Yocto-based upgrade roadmaps, and mentor teams across boot, memory, and virtualization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• Master's degree in Engineering or related field is a plus.
• PhD in Engineering or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform software stack end to end across telematics chipset generations, from bring-up to production.
• Architect boot and recovery solutions with fail-safe and dual-image paths, OTA updates, NAND/eMMC support.
• Contribute to platform security including verified boot and full-disk encryption, and drive risk assessments.
• Plan kernel and Yocto upgrade roadmaps and release trains, balance launches with feature demand.
• Mentor engineers across boot, security, memory and virtualization domains.
