Job summary

Wind River is seeking a Core Kernel Engineer to support kernel components for the VxWorks OS, performing implementation, testing, and debugging while collaborating with senior engineers to build system-level expertise.

In this role you will contribute to Core OS technologies, participate in CI/CD and agile processes, assist in issue investigations during product verification, and help document and review code across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of OS kernel development experience.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems concepts.
• RTOS software development experience with kernel functionality.
• C programming in embedded systems.
• Experience with assembly, C++, Python is a plus.
• Experience with low-level device drivers and BSP bring-up.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, fast learner with ability to master new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of Core OS technologies for embedded VxWorks OS.
• Contribute to coding, testing, and validation following CI/CD and agile methodology.
• Assist in investigating and resolving issues found during product verification and testing.
• Contribute to documentation and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support hardware and software integration.
