Job summary

DeepSight Technology in Washington, DC area seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our ultrasound systems team. You will bring up embedded subsystems, optimize HW/SW interfaces, and help scale from prototype to production in a regulated medical device environment.

You should excel in mixed-signal design, FPGA implementation, and test automation, with strong collaboration across hardware, software, and manufacturing engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; MS/PhD highly preferred.
• 7+ years of embedded systems experience with hardware and firmware.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python; Rust a plus.
• FPGA development using Verilog, VHDL, or Amaranth.
• Schematic capture and PCB design with Altium or KiCad.
• Experience with mixed-signal, RF, or optoelectronic design.

Responsibilities

• Architect embedded hardware and firmware for ultrasound subsystems (mixed signal, RF).
• Extend and maintain firmware in bare-metal and RTOS environments.
• Develop HIL and automated production testing tools.
• Create test specifications, define acceptance tolerances, and support regulatory submissions.
• Own FPGA RTL features and end-to-end data acquisition pipeline.
• Lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure manufacturability.
