Job summary

5V Video is seeking a senior embedded C/C++ engineer to integrate and optimize graphics and video pipelines for WPE on multiple platforms. You’ll diagnose startup and runtime bottlenecks in high-traffic streaming apps and coordinate with chipset vendors for silicon bring-up.

You will contribute to open-source communities, port WPE to new platforms, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with QA and release teams.

Qualifications

6+ years of C/C++ development experience with memory management, multithreading and profiling.
Experience with embedded Linux, cross-compilation, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, and constrained hardware debugging.
Knowledge of graphics/display tech: Wayland, X11, EGL, OpenGL ES, Cairo or Skia.
Familiar with media pipelines (GStreamer preferred) and adaptive streaming standards (DASH, HLS, MSE/EME).
Comfort contributing to open-source codebases and upstream communities.

Responsibilities

Integrate and tune graphics and video pipelines for WPE.
Diagnose and resolve performance issues on high-traffic streaming apps.
Port and validate WPE across new silicon with chipset vendors.
Work upstream with WebKit/WPE community, submitting patches.
Collaborate with core video engineering, QA, and partners to triage field issues.
Contribute to technical documentation and mentor embedded engineers.
