Job summary

Ultipro in the Greater Houston area seeks an experienced embedded firmware engineer to develop software for HVAC consumer appliances and smart home devices. You will partner with thermal and mechanical engineers to translate requirements into robust, power-efficient firmware used in air handlers, furnaces, thermostats, and IoT sensors.

The role emphasizes hands-on C/C++ development, RTOS or bare-metal work, and knowledge of RS-485/I2C/CAN interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with embedded firmware development for consumer devices.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for microcontrollers and RTOS environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware for HVAC consumer appliances and Smart Home devices.
• Write and maintain firmware in C/C++, targeting RTOS and bare-metal environments.
• Develop firmware stacks and drivers for communication protocols (RS-485, I2C, CAN).
• Perform unit testing, CI/CD, and bench/lab validation of firmware.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure proper firmware/hardware integration.
