Job summary

Allen Control Systems is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to develop real-time embedded software in C++ for autonomous defense applications. The role requires designing electrical systems, interpreting MCU datasheets, and integrating with rigid hardware constraints.

The candidate will perform simulations, unit tests, and CI-based validation, while contributing to SIL/HIL testing and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in electrical and firmware design
• Embedded software development in C++
• Experience with MCU peripherals and sensors
• Knowledge of CAN/UART/I2C protocols
• Proficiency in Python for scripting

Responsibilities

• Develop Real-Time Embedded Software in C++ for autonomous defense systems.
• Design electrical systems from datasheets and schematics.
• Write simulations, unit tests, and system tests in CI.
• Incorporate MCU and embedded Linux code into SIL/HIL tests.
• Maintain documentation including pseudocode and schematics.
• Test and debug embedded systems in lab and field conditions.
• Optimize code for power and performance on constrained hardware.
