Job summary

RTX is seeking an embedded software/firmware engineer to support high-performance actuation systems, including aerodynamic steering and attitude control for missile subsystems. Role is onsite in Tucson, AZ or Huntsville, AL or Portsmouth, RI, with clearances and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities include designing and integrating motor-control firmware, implementing digital control algorithms in C/C++, and working with a diverse team of engineers across disciplines to ensure

Qualifications

• Requires a University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with disciplined development and thorough documentation, including commented code and test software.
• Experience with C/C++ development on embedded hardware platforms or similar.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for model development and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, verify, and integrate motor control embedded firmware for current and future actuation systems.
• Implement digital control algorithms in C/C++ with the Controls and Algorithms team.
• Apply sound engineering practices and collaborate with E&E, mechanical, control systems, test, and safety engineers.
