Job summary

RTX seeks an embedded software/firmware engineer to develop high-performance actuation systems for missile platforms. You will design and verify motor control firmware, implement digital control algorithms in C/C++, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure robust, safe operation in demanding environments.

The role is onsite in Tucson, AZ, Huntsville, AL, or Portsmouth, RI, with a strong emphasis on engineering discipline, code quality, and hands-on hardware integration.

Qualifications

• Requires a University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with systems engineering design and/or development and disciplined documentation, including heavily commented code and test benches.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, verify, and integrate motor control embedded firmware for precision actuation systems.
• Implement digital control algorithms in C/C++ for embedded hardware.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, control systems, test, and safety engineers to address technical problems.
