Job summary

Gridware, a San Francisco-based technology company protecting the electrical grid, seeks an embedded firmware engineer to help our devices run robust, power‑efficient firmware.

You will develop C/C++ firmware, implement drivers for peripherals, optimize data processing, and work with backend code to enable secure device communications across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• 3+ years embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong C/C++ knowledge.
• Python or scripting language experience.
• Comfortable in a Linux development environment.
• Experience with hardware debugging.
• Ability to work across hardware, firmware and software domains.

Responsibilities

• Develop C/C++ firmware for microcontroller platforms.
• Implement drivers for microcontroller peripherals and external sensors.
• Collaborate with backend codebase to develop and test device communications.
• Maintain and extend the build system to support multiple embedded platforms.
• Develop data processing and collection algorithms in resource-constrained environments.
• Develop unit tests and execute test plans.
