Job summary

Snap-on Diagnostics is seeking a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop firmware and software for automotive diagnostic applications and vehicle interface software on handheld, microprocessor-based platforms.

You will work on real-time embedded systems and vehicle protocols while collaborating with global teams to release products. Requirements include a BSCS/ BSEE/ BSSE and at least 3 years of firmware experience with C and C++, ARM microprocessors, and Windows/Ethernet

Qualifications

BSCS, BSEE or BSSE required or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years firmware development experience in embedded automotive domain.
Fluent in C and C++ for real-time embedded software development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, analyze and implement real-time embedded automotive diagnostic applications.
Develop vehicle interface software and protocols.
Reverse engineer vehicle communication protocols and identify process improvements.
Maintain project schedules and global release documentation for products.
Collaborate with global OBD engineering and Applications teams on diagnostic software solutions.
Assist with validation and testing of applications.
