Job summary

Snap-on Diagnostics is seeking a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop real-time embedded automotive diagnostic applications and vehicle interface software for handheld platforms.

The role involves reverse engineering vehicle protocols and delivering robust software for global markets. You will collaborate with global engineering teams, drive development schedules, and support validation and testing to ensure high-quality handheld diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• BSCS, BSEE or BSSE degree.
• Minimum 3 yrs firmware development experience in relevant field.
• Fluent in C, C++.
• Real time embedded systems development experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze and implement real time embedded automotive diagnostic applications.
• Develop vehicle interface software and protocols.
• Reverse engineer vehicle communication protocols and propose process improvements.
• Manage development schedules, documentation, and global releases.
• Collaborate with OBD engineering and Applications teams on software solutions.
• Assist with validation and testing of applications.
