Job summary

Fieldpiece seeks a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to drive the embedded software for our connected HVACR tools. You will design and implement firmware, enable wireless communication between tools, sensors, and mobile apps, and work with electrical, mechanical, quality, and product teams to bring products to market.

You will contribute from concept through production, ensuring reliable performance and robust integration with Fieldpiece's Job Link ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar.
• 7+ years developing embedded firmware for commercial products.
• Strong C/C++ programming, RTOS and microcontroller-based systems with wireless tech (BLE/Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi).
• Experience bringing connected products with wireless connectivity from development through production.
• Experience with sensors, data acquisition or control systems.

• Become an expert in the Fieldpiece connected product ecosystem and embedded architecture.
• Develop firmware for new and existing products that improve communication between connected tools and sensors.
• Partner across engineering to launch new products.

Qualifications

• What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar.
  • 7+ years developing embedded firmware for commercial products.
  • Strong C/C++ programming, RTOS and microcontroller-based systems and wireless communication technologies such as BLE, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, UART, SPI, or I2C experience.
  • Experience bringing connected products with wireless connectivity from development through production.
  • Worked on products that integrate with mobile applications.
  • Experience with sensors, data acquisition, or control systems.
• Bonus Point If You Have:
  • Experience with motor, valve, or actuator control.
  • Experience in HVACR, industrial controls, or professional tools.
