I’m partnering with a global technology manufacturer looking to appoint a senior technical leader within its R&D electronics team.

This is a dual hands-on technical + team leadership position, leading a mid-sized firmware development team while remaining directly involved in the architecture and development of advanced embedded products.

The Role

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary embedded/firmware engineering team
• Design and develop embedded firmware using Rust, including async runtimes such as Embassy
• Work closely with electronics hardware, schematics and low-level system architecture
• Lead products from concept and prototyping through NPI, commercialization and lifecycle support
• Develop distributed control systems across wired and wireless networks
• Work with multi-core and multi-controller architecturesDevelop fault-tolerant embedded systems for mission-critical, high-availability applications
• Collaborate across software, product, quality, supply chain and regulatory teams

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years developing complex electronics/embedded products
• Embedded firmware experience, ideally with Embassy or similar async runtimes
• C/C++ and assembly experience
• Strong understanding of electronics and low-level firmware
• Proven engineering team leadership experience
• Experience taking products from concept through commercialization
• MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline; PhD advantageous
