Job summary

7Th Sky Tech is seeking a Senior Firmware/DevOps Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for connected devices. You will build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate workflows, and collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and cloud teams.

The role requires 5+ years of firmware and DevOps experience, strong C/C++ programming, and hands-on Linux/RTOS work. Expect a hybrid work setup in SF and opportunities to influence release processes, testing, and architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Firmware/Embedded Systems and DevOps.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and/or RTOS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for products and connected devices.
• Develop firmware using C/C++ and work with embedded Linux/RTOS environments.
• Work with microcontrollers, SoCs, device drivers, communication protocols, and hardware interfaces.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for firmware and software builds, testing, and releases.
• Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes.
• Manage source control, branching strategies, build systems, and artifact repositories.
• Configure and maintain development, build, and test environments.
• Implement automated firmware testing and quality checks.
• Troubleshoot issues across firmware, build infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
• Work with Git, Docker, Jenkins/GitLab CI/GitHub Actions, or similar DevOps tools.
• Manage Linux systems and scripting using Python/Bash.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Establish best practices for firmware releases, versioning, configuration management, and deployment.
• Monitor and improve build and deployment reliability, performance, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, technical documentation, and mentoring of junior engineers.
