Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Broomfield, CO is seeking a Principal Firmware Engineer for the Indirect Pressure Measurement Group to lead embedded software development for metrology products. You will design, implement and validate firmware and collaborate with hardware teams to solve challenging problems.

You will mentor engineers, define architectural approaches, and ensure robust verification and validation using emulators, oscilloscopes and field-bus discussions across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree and 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience in embedded system architecture and algorithms.
• Fluency with the C and C++ programming languages.
• Experience with emulators, bus monitoring hardware/software, oscilloscopes, and similar tools to develop and debug products.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies firmware.
• Troubleshoots code for firmware (IC embedded) applications.
• Works with hardware design and other engineers to solve problems.
• Defines architectural design, implementation, verification and validation of firmware for embedded metrology products.
