Job summary

Meta is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and optimize firmware for AR/VR devices. You will work on kernel, drivers, and connectivity such as Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth, aiming for low-latency data handling and high bandwidth.

You'll collaborate with cross‑functional teams on computer vision, ML, and graphics, and contribute to power/performance optimization across devices like sensing and imaging systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience (must have).
• 7+ years of software development experience; PhD with 4+ years counts.
• 3+ years embedded software development experience.
• Experience in large-scale C/C++ code bases.
• Experience leading technical work streams and teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software components across system layers including kernel and drivers.
• Develop drivers and services for constrained environments with high data throughput.
• Lead hardware bring up, peripheral drivers, silicon integration and power/performance optimization.
• Debug complex system-level issues spanning kernel to application.
• Profile performance and optimize across the software stack.
• Integrate components from partner teams into a unified code base.
• Develop firmware for sensing/imaging, haptic, and audio devices.
• Collaborate across teams on wireless stacks (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, UWB).
• Enhance systems with wireless interfaces and support QA/manufacturing.
