Job summary

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics in Wichita, Kansas, is seeking a Software Engineer (AHRS) to design and test embedded software for avionics, power electronics and battery systems with emphasis on AHRS/INS. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field, 10+ years embedded software experience in the U.S., and 5+ years as principal designer for AHRS/INS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience designing embedded software in the U.S.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as principal designer for AHRS and INS solutions.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience characterizing and calibrating inertial sensor devices.
• Ability to work directly with target hardware, including lab bench equipment, other tools for debugging and analysis.
• Proficient in C.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Organized, focused and results oriented.
• Problem-solving with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support in evaluation and testing of existing and emerging technologies.
• Design avionics, power electronics, and battery systems with emphasis on AHRS and INS.
• Create IP to address software-defined behavior.
• Work on products for cockpit displays, instruments and navigational references using sensor inputs.
• Develop data conversion and storage, lithium battery management, power conversion, and in-seat power solutions.
