This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex measurement challenges, developing low-power embedded hardware, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver products that operate reliably in the field for decades.**What You'll Do:*** Lead hardware development from concept through production, including architecture, schematic design, PCB development, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing support.* Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, and sensor interface circuits for battery-powered embedded systems.* Serve as the technical lead for metrology hardware, supporting electromagnetic and ultrasonic measurement technologies.* Collaborate with firmware, systems, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to optimize performance, reliability, power consumption, and cost.* Develop and execute test plans focused on accuracy, noise performance, environmental robustness, and long-term reliability.* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.**What You'll Bring:*** Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.* 5–10+ years of hardware design experience.* Experience with low-power embedded systems and sensor-based products.* Strong analog and mixed-signal design skills.* Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium preferred).* Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power measurement tools.* Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience with DSP, signal acquisition, filtering, and noise reduction.* Background in water, gas, utility, industrial, or smart metering products.* Familiarity with electromagnetic or ultrasonic sensing technologies.* Experience designing products intended for 15–20+ year field life.*#LI-JO2*Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
