Job summary

Sperry Rail is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to advance a sophisticated rail inspection system using eddy current technology. You will design, test, integrate and support the system, including field commissioning and fault investigation on customer sites in the US and internationally.

A strong background in electronic engineering, signal processing and data analysis is required, with proficiency in C# and knowledge of LabVIEW desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Signal Processing or related discipline.
• Strong mathematical foundation with analytical techniques for complex engineering problems.
• Significant experience in design, analysis, testing and fault diagnosis of electronic circuits.
• Experience in signal processing and measurement systems, ideally sensor-based or NDT.
• Proficiency in C# software development.
• Strong data analysis skills with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and technical support of eddy current rail inspection systems.
• Develop and refine approaches to improve defect detection, reliability and performance.
• Analyze large datasets to evaluate system behaviour and anomalies.
• Develop and maintain software tools in C# for control, data acquisition, analysis and reporting.
• Provide maintenance and enhancement of LabVIEW software (desirable).
• Design, analyze, test and fault-find analogue and digital electronics.
