Job summary
A leading defense contractor in California is seeking a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer to lead the development of scalable datacenter systems focusing on Infrastructure as a Service. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and substantial experience in automation and technologies like VMware and Azure. Active DoD Top Secret clearance is required. This role is full-time and on-site only, with no remote work options available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance required.
- Experience in leading technical teams in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements to support Infrastructure as a Service development.
- Monitor technology developments to apply new principles across programs.
- Provide technical leadership to a team of cloud and infrastructure engineers.
Skills
Experience developing and deploying highly scalable datacenter systems
Experience with VMware ESXi/VCF and Microsoft Azure
Scripting/programming languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
Infrastructure automation with tools (Ansible, Terraform)
Automated documentation tools (Sphinx, MkDocs)
Technical leadership
Education
