Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU) in Rancho Bernardo, CA, is seeking a Sr Principal Electronics Engineer – Data Center Architect to drive IaaS infrastructure growth and system scalability. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s with 6 years; OR PhD with 4 years.
• Experience deploying scalable datacenter systems to support IaaS.
• Experience designing on-premises and hybrid datacenter systems with VMware ESXi/VCF and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience scripting in Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, .Net, Java, C, and C#.
• Experience designing multi-tier storage solutions.
• Infrastructure automation with Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
• Experience documenting installation, configuration, and updates.
• Ability to create end-to-end infrastructure blueprints/roadmaps that meet scalability, reliability, security, and program SOW.
• US Citizen with Top Secret/SCI clearance or eligibility; background check within 5 years.
• Must obtain and maintain SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Understand and decompose customer requirements to support IaaS development and delivery across multiple areas.
• Monitor external technology development to shape a cohesive data center systems vision.
• Participate in development and peer reviews.
• Develop acceptance criteria with Thread Leads and system Engineers for consistent implementation.
• Lead new design and capture efforts to build foundation for future systems.
• Decompose complex issues into high-level briefs for leadership.
• Provide technical leadership to a team of cloud and infrastructure engineers.
• Transfer knowledge during implementation of technical solutions.
