Job Description: Senior Electronics Engineer at Schneider Electric

We are seeking a hardware design engineer with experience in Power Electronics to join a multidisciplinary team focused on new offer creation for the North American market. Our growth in residential, commercial, and industrial building sectors drives the development of connected, controllable solutions that enable consumers to monitor and control energy usage, emphasizing sustainability and reducing carbon footprints. The team faces technical challenges across hardware, firmware, and electronics necessary for creating integrated systems (electronics, power, embedded firmware, cloud, application, APIs).

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing complex products throughout their lifecycle, be a team player familiar with Agile product management, and preferably have Cyber Security experience. Responsibilities include:

1. Translating marketing requirements into structured technical specifications.
2. Developing, debugging, analyzing, and establishing root cause for hardware and embedded systems from proof of concept through production and support.
3. Providing direction to Product Design Leads to ensure consistency in product development.
4. Researching emerging technologies to support hardware architecture and potential IP ownership.
5. Interfacing with customers to understand technological needs and create future solutions.
6. Collaborating with verification teams to define and analyze developmental tests.
7. Working with third-party certification agencies such as UL.

This position is hybrid, based near our Raleigh, NC design center, with approximately 10% travel locally or overseas.

Minimum requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Master’s or PhD is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience in hardware development and design.
• Knowledge of electronics hardware design, simulation systems, power systems, and control circuits.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and simulation tools like Matlab, Simulink, PSpice.
• Knowledge of EMC testing and mitigation techniques.
• Experience in system architecture with power electronics and embedded systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analysis skills, with a focus on design for test and reliability.
