Job summary

Medtronic is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer in Tempe, AZ to lead component selection, release, and quality for new product introductions. You will work with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure robust parts and processes, driving root-cause analyses and corrective actions.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, adherence to GMP standards, and qualification audits of new suppliers. A technical degree and extensive industry knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of work experience.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality.
• PhD with 0 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Select, characterize, qualify, and release electronic components according to company standards.
• Create and release component specifications, datasheets, and drawings for new product introductions (NPI).
• Drive Quality rigor for New Product Development decisions, Capability & Reliability with Suppliers.
• Lead failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective actions with suppliers, manufacturing and quality teams.
• Collaborate with program managers and cross functional teams to ensure milestones are met.
• Monitor parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and resolve supplier-related problems.
