HyperLight is seeking an Electro-Optic Modulator Design Engineer in Cambridge, MA. You will own modulator designs end-to-end, applying RF and optical physics to optimize, simulate, and validate devices for mass deployment of TFLN photonics.

The role requires 6+ years of experience or an advanced degree, with strong skills in RF, microwave, and photonics, and proficiency in EM simulation tools. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered, onsite in Cambridge.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or 6+ years of relevant work experience in physics, EE, or related field.
• Strong track record of independent innovation evidenced by publications, products, or patents.
• Deep intuition in applied physics of high-speed electro-optic devices.
• Solid understanding of RF, microwave, and integrated photonic devices and related theory.

Responsibilities

• Own the full development of modulator designs from concept to production handoff.
• Collaborate with layout, process, manufacturing, test, and product teams to design photonic components.
• Perform high-frequency RF (>100 GHz) and EO simulations; develop test/calibration techniques for device characterization.
