PsiQuantum in Milpitas, California is seeking a senior- or staff-level Electro-Optic Hardware Design Engineer to own the detailed design of optical/electro-optic modules for advanced photonic systems. You will lead from requirements to manufacturing, coordinating with external partners and ensuring robust, testable hardware.

You will integrate optical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and firmware interfaces for rack-mountable or blade assemblies, drive EVT/DVT, and deliver build-ready designs

Qualifications

• Own detailed electro-optic or opto-mechanical hardware design through prototype, verification, qualification, and manufacturing release.
• Experience with fiber-optic components and subsystems including amplifiers, attenuators, polarization control, monitoring and fiber management.
• Experience leading EVT/DVT, hardware bring-up, debugging, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsabilités

• Own the detailed design and integration of electro-optic modules with optical amplifiers, attenuators, polarization controllers, optical switches, and fiber infrastructure.
• Convert system requirements into engineering specifications, interfaces, budgets, schematics, BOMs, and test documentation.
• Lead design trade studies and document decisions with traceable evidence; manage risk and schedule.
