Highbrow Technology Inc in Sunnyvale, CA seeks an experienced Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to lead validation, verification and reliability testing of electro-mechanical products.

You will develop and execute mechanical test plans, design custom test fixtures, calibrate sensors, and automate tests using Python. Strong background in metrology, GD&T and data analysis is essential for delivering durable, high-quality products.

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in mechanical validation, verification, and reliability testing. T
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and executing mechanical test plans, designing test fixtures, working with data acquisition systems, and automating tests using Python.
• The role requires a strong combination of mechanical engineering fundamentals, instrumentation, test automation, and statistical analysis to validate the performance, durability, and reliability of electro-mechanical products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute mechanical validation and reliability test plans, including drop, vibration, fatigue/life-cycle, environmental, and accelerated life testing (HALT/HASS/ALT).
• Define test procedures, acceptance criteria, and performance metrics.
• Design, build, and validate custom test fixtures and instrumented test rigs.
• Select, mount, and calibrate sensors, ensuring accurate measurements and assessing measurement uncertainty.
• Develop Python scripts for test automation, instrument control, data acquisition, and analysis using NumPy, Pandas, or equivalent libraries.
• Work with DAQ hardware, analog/digital I/O, serial interfaces, sensor signal conditioning, and motion control systems.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Perform dimensional and metrology inspections using CMM, optical/vision measurement systems, and 3D scanning equipment.
• Apply statistical methods such as DOE, sample size analysis, Weibull analysis, and SPC to evaluate test results and product reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify failure modes, troubleshoot issues, and improve product reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in electro-mechanical engineering, with a strong background in mechanical validation, verification, or reliability testing.
• Hands-on experience developing and executing mechanical validation and reliability test plans.
• Experience with drop, vibration, shock, fatigue/life-cycle, environmental, and accelerated reliability testing.
• Proven experience designing and building test fixtures and instrumented rigs.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation, instrument control, and data analysis.
• Experience with DAQ systems, analog/digital I/O, SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, sensor signal conditioning, and motion control.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and metrology equipment.
• Experience applying DOE, Weibull analysis, sample size justification, and SPC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience validating consumer electronics products, particularly compact or highly integrated devices.
• Knowledge of dynamic and environmental testing standards, including vibration, shock, transport, and environmental exposure.
• Experience with optical, non-contact, or full-field measurement techniques for displacement, deformation, and motion.
