Caterpillar Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking an engineer to solve challenging problems involving electrified products and systems.

You will apply advanced analysis and cross-functional execution to support battery electric machine development and high-voltage integration across machine platforms. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, supply chain, software, controls, and test teams to deliver timely engineering solutions and to support product development and validation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• Strong analytical thinking with ability to identify root causes and develop solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Solid understanding of electrification technologies and associated engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, product groups, and leadership to define and execute electrification projects that meet business and customer objectives.
• Lead development and integration activities for battery, charging, high-voltage, and electric drive systems across machine platforms.
• Deliver timely, high-quality engineering solutions, technical recommendations, and project execution support for new product introduction and validation activities.

Job Summary

Solve challenging engineering problems involving electrified products, systems, and components using advanced engineering analysis, technical expertise, and cross-functional execution. Support battery electric machine development, high-voltage integration, battery technologies, and product development activities for the Tucson team.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with customers, product groups, and leadership to define and execute electrification projects that meet business and customer objectives


• Lead development and integration activities for battery, charging, high-voltage, and electric drive systems across machine platforms


• Accountable for delivering timely, high-quality engineering solutions, technical recommendations, and project execution support for new product introduction and validation activities


• Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain, software, controls, and test teams to successfully develop and deploy electrified products


• Support technical issue resolution, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives across development and production programs


• Stay current on emerging electrification technologies and apply best practices to improve product performance, reliability, and customer value

What You Will Have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering


• Analytical Thinking: Extensive experience and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.


• Effective Communications: Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.


• Problem Solving: Extensive experience and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.


• Technical Excellence: Working knowledge of electrification technologies and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges involving battery electric machines, energy storage systems, high-voltage integration, power electronics, charging systems, and vehicle electrification.

Summary Pay Range

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
