We are currently seeking a Senior Electricity Market Optimization Engineer to join our Power & Renewables team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing sector.

In this role, you will work within our forecast team to develop and operationalize robust models that help clients—from asset managers and utilities to power traders—navigate the complexities and volatility of modern power markets. Our team combines cloud computing expertise, deep domain knowledge, and rigorous software engineering practices to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions in the energy sector. Performance Objectives

  1. Design, develop, and implement advanced optimization applications for power markets—including unit commitment, dispatch, and DC power flow analysis.
  2. Work closely with software engineers to operationalize and maintain models, ensuring seamless integration into production systems.
  3. Gather, cleanse, and analyze large datasets from diverse sources to validate models.

Technical Excellence

  1. Apply operations research methodologies (linear, nonlinear, and integer programming) to translate complex market dynamics into actionable insights.
  2. Utilize modern technologies such as Kubernetes for container orchestration, work with APIs for integration, and employ advanced data engineering tools for scalable model deployment.

Candidate Profile

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.

Industry Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in power market optimization and analytics, with proven track record of developing and deploying models, especially production cost models.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in operations research (linear, nonlinear, integer programming).
  • Experience with optimization modeling languages and solvers such as CPLEX and Pyomo.
  • Expertise in unit commitment & dispatch algorithms and Power Flow Modeling.

Software & Data Engineering Skills

  • Strong Python skills, writing clean, production-grade code.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, API development, and modern data engineering practices.
  • Ability to connect electrical engineering principles with high-quality software development.

Soft Skills

This role is eligible for variable compensation.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 + bonus
