Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Senior Electrician to perform advanced journeyman-level installation, maintenance, and service of electrical systems across campus. You will supervise and mentor staff, coordinate with the electrical supervisor, and respond to emergencies after hours as needed.

Responsibilities include project estimates, reading blueprints, installing cables and conduits, and ensuring compliance with NEC and safety standards while supporting research and campus

Qualifications

• Licensed journeyman with strong electrical knowledge and safety focus.
• Experience with medium voltage work and wiring installations.
• Ability to read blueprints, estimate costs, and plan trades work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the automated work order system and issue work orders.
• Interact with faculty and staff to schedule work and address needs.
• Order materials and procure supplies for electrical projects.
• Install and repair electrical conduits, wiring, switchgear, and panels.
• Inspect and test transformers, generators, and controls; troubleshoot issues.
• Assist the supervisor with day-to-day operations and on-call emergencies.
