Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Electrician to join our team in Virginia. The role centers on coordinating electrical repairs, overseeing projects, and maintaining plant controls for mining operations.

You will troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with engineering and vendors to meet deadlines. A two-year technical degree or apprenticeship and PLC familiarity are preferred. We offer competitive benefits and pay equity.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in electrical technology, apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Certified/licensed Electrician preferred.
• One year experience in aggregate/mining or similar industry preferred.
• Experience with PLCs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including plant controls for mining operations.
• Overseeing electrical work from minor repairs to major projects.
• Troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC motor controls and drives.
• Researching potential upgrades in automation and fine-tunes existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability, and reporting.
• Working closely with the engineering group and contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects.
• Supporting the corporate safety culture and performs duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
• Ensuring that all employees are following established safety policies and procedures.
• Troubleshooting and repairing all electrical wiring, appliance, fixture, and machinery problems.
• Detecting, diagnosing and repairing failing components, and malfunctions to improve/maintain equipment reliability.
• Mentoring, training and providing technical advice to less experienced staff regarding electrical repairs and safety procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description What to expect: Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Electrician to join our team.

Hours:

6AM - 5PM, weekends as necessary

A typical day for a Senior Electrician may include:

• Coordinating all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls for mining operations
• Overseeing electrical work from minor repairs to major projects
• Troubleshooting and repairing AC / DC motor controls and drives
• Researching potential upgrades in automation and fine-tunes existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability, and reporting
• Working closely with the engineering group and contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects
• Supporting the corporate safety culture and performs duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
• Ensuring that all employees are following established safety policies and procedures

You may be a good fit if you:

• Possess a two (2) year technical degree in electrical technology, completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Are a Certified / licensed Electrician (preferred)
• Have one (1) year experience in aggregate/mining or similar industry (preferred)
• Have experience with PLC's (preferred)

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $26.90 - $36.95, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
