Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is hiring a Senior Test Hardware Engineer (Electrical) to design, build, deploy, and support shared electrical test hardware for our test infrastructure. You will develop reusable hardware blocks and collaborate with test ops, software automation, IT, and other teams to ensure rapid asset deployment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in an engineering field and 5+ years of hands-on experience with electrical test hardware, schematics, and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical or related engineering field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with electrical test hardware, lab equipment, or automation.
• Experience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and assembly docs.
• Experience with EPLAN or similar electrical design tools.
• Knowledge of data acquisition, instrumentation, sensors, controls, and networking.
• Hands-on hardware checkout, commissioning, troubleshooting in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain common electrical test hardware platforms for DAQ, controls, and power systems.
• Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, panel layouts, and assembly docs.
• Develop modular hardware architectures for reusable test systems.
• Support lifecycle from requirements through procurement, fabrication, integration and deployment.
• Collaborate with software automation, IT, and cross-functional teams for asset deployment.
• Coordinate with IT to image and configure computers for test assets.
• Diagnose issues across hardware, software interfaces, networking, and test infrastructure.
