Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Sr. Electrical Test Engineer in Austin, TX to lead hardware validation and test automation. You will craft test plans, build reusable automated test equipment, and partner with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to validate designs before deployment.

The role emphasizes hands‑on debugging, Python scripting, and ownership of test systems from scratch in a fast‑growing environment. This is an onsite, permanent position in Austin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10+ years in electrical test engineering or hardware validation.
• Engineering‑level board debug ability from schematics/datasheets.
• Ability to write test automation software, primarily Python.
• Experience designing flexible bench‑top automated test setups.
• R&D background with hands‑on test system ownership.
• Experience in high‑power or high‑voltage environments (100V+).

Responsibilities

• Develop and own comprehensive test plans aligned with the design process.
• Lead electrical verification at board, subsystem, and system levels.
• Drive root-cause analysis for electrical failures and validate fixes.
• Design, build, and deploy automated test equipment for boards and power systems.
• Develop automated test scripts and frameworks in Python.
• Specify and integrate lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DAQs, power.)
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to validate designs early.
