Amentum is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician – Electrical to support the Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) on the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) in Norfolk, VA during a Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH).

The role will diagnose and repair shipboard electrical systems, including controllers, motors, 400 Hz equipment, lighting and switches, using test equipment and hand tools. Prior ET/GSE experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of shipboard experience in the electrical field.
• Experience as Electronics Technician (ET) or Gas Turbine Systems Technician – Electrical (GSE).
• Troubleshooting experience on controllers, motors, 400 hertz equipment, lighting and switches aboard naval ships.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to train sailors in troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment onboard naval vessels.
• Must be able to work onboard US Navy ships and access ship repair facilities.
• Active secret US government clearance (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• The Senior Engineering Technician – Electrical will become an integral part of CEMAT-ACCIT in support of the Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) on board John C. Stennis (CVN 74).
• The ideal candidate will have prior shipboard electrical experience.
• Work as part of a small cross-functional team and assist other members as needed, including safety watches.
• Apply understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair shipboard electrical systems and components per naval specs.
• Must be able to lift and transport heavy equipment, not less than 30 lbs.
