Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is seeking an Engineering Electrical Technician V to support HVAC development programs, perform testing, calibration, and repairs of electromechanical and electronic instruments for conformance to standards. You will lead and mentor contractors and technicians, serving as a system owner for electrical infrastructure within the CBU Lab operation.

Location is Plymouth, MN. The role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration with Facilities Eng, Maintenance, and EHS, and involvement

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent training/experience.
• Experience with industrial/manufacturing electrical systems.
• Familiarity with medium- and low-voltage power distribution.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safe work practices.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting of existing electrical systems (PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, sensors/instruments, valves/motors).
• Coach/train technicians and maintenance staff at the test laboratory.
• Support design, installation, operation, and maintenance of facility electrical systems and power distribution.
• Collaborate with Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and Operations to minimize downtime.
• Review drawings, schematics, and specs for projects and upgrades.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and utilities on electrical work.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• Support capital projects with electrical input and field oversight.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs and reliability improvements.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
