Job summary

New Flyer is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician in Minnesota to perform programming, troubleshooting, installation and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC and mechanical systems within a manufacturing setting.

The role requires strong problem-solving, attention to quality and safety, and teamwork. You may train junior staff and support in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• High voltage experience a plus.
• PLC, ladder logic, AC and DC system experience.
• Experience reading engineering documents, wiring schematics and instructions.
• Associate degree in automotive discipline, electronics, or equivalent vocational school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Commission high voltage systems as designated by NF checkouts and documents.
• Troubleshoot and repair high voltage system failures including controls and communications.
• Install software, test, diagnose, and repair Customer Installed Option systems (AVA/AVL, video, destination sign, NF Connect).
• Train and support junior employees in a team environment.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a neat, orderly manner.
• Understand ECN and EAD processes.
