Job summary

Inteplast Group in Garland, TX is seeking an Electric Technician to monitor equipment and support preventative maintenance on extrusion lines. You will work with operators to learn the process and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, familiarity with electrical schematics and PLC logic, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and effective communication across shifts.

Qualifications

3-5 years experience in the troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery.
Electrical experience is preferred.
Interpreting electrical schematics and drawings efficiently.
Capable of programming drives and understand PLC logic.
Basic welding and machining skills are a plus.
Intermediate knowledge of standard software (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook).
Good communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Willing to adhere to all plant safety rules and promote an environment where safety is first.
Proactive in addressing safety issues and concerns.
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Responsibilities

Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Will be responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.
Must actively participate in safety meetings.
Must understand and comply with all current plant policies and procedures.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical/mechanical equipment failures.
Interpret electrical schematics and drawings efficiently.
Capable of programming drives and understand PLC Logic.
Work with the Operators to learn the processes associated with operating an extruder and printing press.
Perform die changes in extrusion.
Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment.
Perform maintenance tasks, i.e. replacing electrical switches, current & voltage meters, replacing AC & DC motors, heater bands, temp controllers, thermocouples, solenoids, counters, and Vector drives.
Monitor the chillers and air compressors.
Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
